Our fashion and luxury oriented column will be available from now on under the name Esmé Letter.
Hopefully, by now those of you, who have been following the Trendy Tango column, understood what it was about: each article presented a different luxury brand with plenty of visuals on the side. The name was very clear about this. But I want to go deeper, I want to help people form good taste, to be cultured in fashion because whether you like it or not, whether you care about fashion or not, it is extremely a strong part of our everyday lives. So, we might as well find out more about it.
Those of you, who know J. D. Salinger’s “For Esmé—with Love and Squalor” short-story, surely remember the title character, Esmé, a little girl, who tries to act very sophisticated and mature in the company of an older gentleman. Sometimes I feel like that, too, I try to be more than I am—but who doesn’t from time to time? Therefore, both the readers and I would learn a lot.
So, I decided to dedicate my blog to Esmé. I would write each article as a letter to her, trying to teach her about fashion, culture, and the arts. The content will be the same, but the story around it would change a bit.
I hope you will still like it.
